If you’re not familiar with Deadelus, I am not sure that you have been paying attention for very long. For those not in the know, his style is nearly impossible to pin down. His sound is a true collage of pieces that really shouldn’t go together, but through his innocent technique of juxtaposition of sound waves, he makes it work, and clearly has a smile on his face as he operates his Monome, a music production/performance device he nearly single-handedly made popular during his touring.
The EP will be out March 23rd, 2010 on Flying Lotus’s Brainfeeder imprint.

Scion Radio

Part of the varied and growing online and artistic content Scion keeps generating, check out Scion Radio.
Teaming up with music luminaries such as XLR8R, Ninjatune and many more, this is clearly a strategy to appeal to the young, hip generation, who presumably will buy Scions, thus, marketing by osmosis. In any case the results are grand. Also check out the rest of the visual content on the site.
Edison – Tonka Truck
Peep this video from Edison who is clearly a master of this Monome-like trigger device. If you’re feeling it, you can to go his label’s site and buy some tunes.
New People Under the Stairs Album

LA based hiphop duo People Under the Stairs have finished their 7th studio album, Carried Away. I was fortunate enough to catch them in Orlando, Florida a few years ago and was surprised at how hype their live show is. Not to say I was expecting them to be sitting down, rapping softly but I was not prepared for the energy that was presented. For those unfamiliar with PUTS, it’s basically two dudes that rap, make beats and scratch and make fun, party hip-hop that’s fresh but you can still play in front of your parents or young siblings.
Earmilk has an mp3 from the album for download.
