New Flying Lotus album “Cosmogramma” presales
Flying Lotus’s new album is now available for presale via Bleep.com with some sort of awesome limited edition packaging for the CD and vinyl versions. The album won’t be released until May but as a huge fan of FlyLo, I’ve gotta get my hands on it while I have some change lying around.

Black Keys and hiphop artist collab: BLAKROC

Bluesy-rock band The Black Keys have teamed up with ex-Roc-A-Fella Records exec Damon Dash, producing project with some of your favorite hiphop artists, including Billy Danze, The Black Keys, Jim Jones, Nicole Wray, NOE, Ludacris, Mos Def, ODB, Pharoahe Monch, Q-Tip, Raekwon, & RZA. Apparently the album was recorded in earlier this year and uses nothing but live instrumentation. You can download a copy of the tune they did with Mos Def and Jim Jones to get a taste of what to expect from the full release.
The album is set to release on November 27th, but you can pre-order a copy here.
On how the project got started, Dam Dash says:
“My assistants, who are now actually A&Rs, were going to a Black Keys concert for their birthday and I wasn’t invited,” he explained. “Usually on their birthdays we all do it together and the reason why I wasn’t invited was because the concert was sold out . And I had never heard of The Black Keys and I was like y’all still gonna go without me. And they was like ‘Yo it’s The Black Keys.” So I was like, lemme hear this group. So I start listening to them and they actually became my favorite group. They were on heavy rotation so we just reached out and we kicked it with them and I was like, ‘I wonder what would happen if we got Jim Jones and the Keys in the studio’ and Jim came in and all of a sudden Mos came in and then [it] just built from there. “
