Lorn – Self Confidence Volume 2

Lorn is from Wisconsin but he fits right in with the Brainfeeder camp in California, who released his “Nothing Else” LP last year, one of my favorite releases from 2010. His music can easily be described as harsh and post-apocalyptic, at hiphop tempo but definitely not meant for rapping and breakdancing. This collection of tunes is described as an “hour and fourteen minutes of unfinished / unreleased / demo / don’t remember music from Lorn” – you can download it here and figure out just what that means for yourself.

I was fortunate enough to catch him at the Vagabond in Miami a few weeks ago, when he was touring with Mary Anne Hobbs, Take and others on the Road Warrior tour and he definitely stole the show that night. He looked like a maniac at the controls of some demonized bass producing mechanism, flailing his arms as the next sonic assault took place upon the crowd.

I guess since this is labeled as volume 2 there’d be a volume 1, but I’ve had no luck. Please let me know if you find a volume 1, my search provided no result.
