Heartbreak & Munchi – H/M
Munchi is, in my opinion, the dopest producer in the moombahton game and is very versatile, capable of everything from dubstep to kuduro. His remix on Dillon Francis‘s Westside EP – Brazzer’s Theme (Munchi’s Fuck That It’s Bangbros Remix) was released via Mad Decent, putting his distinct sound into the ears of club goers worldwide.
I thought this was the first time that I’m hearing of Heartbreak, but after some research I realize he’s the one responsible for the moombahcore remix of Emalkay’s “When I Look At You”, one of my favorite dubstep tunes from 2009.
Download the EP, it’s free, it hits hard and makes the panties drop. Hit up Heartbreak on Twitter and SoundCloud, and Munchi on Twitter and SoundCloud.

This EP has a nice balance of heavy and tropical, starting with the minimal dancehall jam “Jump Up & Twist”, produced by Heartbreak. The EP progresses into heavier territory with Heartbreaks clunky “Doomsday”, which has blatant dubstep influence with it’s 8bit duck sounding wobble.

Munchi’s half of the EP reinforces my first statement; dude can make whatever he wants and does it well. “Learn” is a slow paced moombahdub (lol) tune with a heavy driving kick and Damian Marley sample. “Me and My Bitch” represents Munchi’s club hop (I’m totally just going to keep making genre names up because it’s fun for me) production abilities, sampling Jay-Z, lush strings, luxurious tribal drums and an expensive sounding electronic flute. “Warface” is a moombahcore (didn’t make this one up – Munchi did) tune, another remix of a dubstep classic, Jakes’ “Warface”.

Nice write-up. This stuff has really been growing on me, and Munchi is a beast. Great job with the genre descriptions too.
